'Bootylicious' horsefly named after Beyonce

 

The horsefly and its namesake. An Australian researcher identified the previously unnamed

insect, now known as Scaptia Plinthina Beyonceae. An official with Australia's Australia's

Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization explained that the horsefly's

golden posterior reminded the researcher of the entertainer's derriere. No response yet from

Beyonce herself on the, uh, honor.

due to the leak of the pics, he ordered the magazine's release date moved up to December 16 and

CHICAGO: Former media big shot Conrad Black going back to prison

 

A US Federal Judge in Chicago ordered former media magnate Conrad Black back to prison Friday,

06/24/10 to serve the remaining 13 months of an original 6 and a half-year sentence for his conviction

on fraud and obstruction of justice violations. Black, a member of Britain's House of Lords, had been

released from prison in 2010 pending an appeal to the US Supreme Court. Still maintaining he was

innocent of siphoning off millions of dollars in assets in a scheme with his partners, Black blamed

journalists, prosecutors and federal regulators for cooking up what he called "scurrilous" charges

against him. His wife fainted in the courtroom and required medical attention.

MSNBC's most successful and controversial personality, Keith Olbermann signed off

his weeknight program Friday, bidding his audience a final farewell.  It was not known

if Olbermann, whose outspoken liberal commentary gained national attention, was

fired or he quit.  He was in the middle of a four-year contract.  His exit was sudden

and totally unanticipated.  All the network would say is that "they wish him well."

KENTUCKY:  Beauty queen loses crown after arrest

 

Daniela Gaskie was the reigning Miss Kentucky Latina. Pageant officials

took back her crown after she was arrested and accused in two assault

cases.  In one,she is said to have stabbed a gas station attendant.

In another, she is accused of beating up a pharmacist.
